That's kinda awesome. I watched 17 Again on the flight back from San Diego (I'll watch anything on a flight) and the movie wasn't great, but Zac Efron was actually really good.
I love the Efron, even from High School Musical, but I think he might be gay, so he may not be the next Shia, but definitely one to watch (maybe the next NPH?).
The thing about Efron is that he's pretty much just a star to kids and tabloid junkies, like Shia was when he was doing his kiddie shows. Shia made the transition to pretty-big-deal star with the Transformers movies and Indy 4 and now he's a leading man. Efron will be there when he nails his first big budget popcorn movie that does well and not the reverse boy version of 13 Going On 30.

ReplyDeleteHe was good in the Hairspray remake too. I'm thinking he's the next Shia.

I think he's already nearly as commercially successful as Shia via HSM, isn't he? So does he really even need to be the next Shia?

ReplyDeleteCurse him for turning down the Footloose remake.
